GO Industrial x Altrad - Service Trucks Made Easy | Reliable, Compliant and Efficient

A service truck that is built on workflow and compliance is key to an efficient engineering service business such as Altrad. Altrad Group is a world leader in the provision of Industrial services for the oil and gas, energy, power generation, processes, environment and construction industry.

Thanks to our partnership with Service Bodies Australia - GO was approached to design, fitout and supply 3 of Altrad’s brand new ISUZU trucks. SBA Australia gave us the truck bodies and GO Industrial made it happen.

In the initial phase of this project, Altrad outlined the scope: a service truck for maintaining Origin Energy's oil rig sites in North of Queensland. These trucks needed to be durable to withstand harsh environments and have four separate compartments - two for clean oil, one for coolant and one for waste oil. After collaborative design discussions between GO's engineering team and Altrad's management, a service truck design emerged with a total storage capacity of approximately 1100 liters. This configuration allowed for two 250-liter compartments for clean oil, a 50-liter compartment for coolant and a single 450-liter compartment for waste oil.

Due to the Isuzu truck's and service body's size limitations, GO prioritized space optimization in the design. By using our team's extensive experience, we ensured each compartment could be stored within the service truck itself, while also prioritizing easy maintenance and cleaning. Each compartment features a dedicated fill and suction line, along with porthole-style level indicators for clear visibility by the Altrad team.

Altrad faced a challenge: balancing a strict budget for each service truck with the need for high-quality, heavy-duty components that could withstand harsh environments. By leveraging our strong relationships with Graco and Piusi, GO Industrial was able to deliver a winning solution. We equipped the trucks with top of the line Graco LD Oil Pumps for new oil compartments and Graco's reliable Husky Double Diaphragm Metal Pump for waste oil. We also included Piusi hose reels strategically placed throughout the truck for dispensing, along with Graco's EM8 Electronic Nozzle for precise dispensing and metering. This is a testament to GO Industrial's ability to leverage supplier relationships to equip the service trucks with premium components while sticking to Altrad's budgetary expectations.

Throughout the project, Damien maintained close communication with Altrad's management team, providing regular updates as the trucks were built. In collaboration with GO Industrial's vendors, including Jetwave, Graco, and Piusi, we were able to enhance the project scope and service truck capabilities. A prime example is the inclusion of Jetwave's Hornet G2 Pressure Washer in the signature CUBE Setup. This setup included a 15LPM 4060 PSI pressure cleaner, a 200L water tank, and double-stacked 60m inlet and outlet hose reels – all conveniently mounted on a single, forklift-compatible stainless steel skid. This washer addition expands Altrad's service offerings for Origin Energy and boosts efficiency by enabling on-site servicing, cleaning, and washdown without the need for additional equipment.

The eight-week project culminated in the delivery of a heavy service truck featuring four compartments and top-quality equipment. A huge thank you to Ian and Dom from the engineering team for designing each compartment and collaborating with Altrad's management to create a customized solution that helps expand their service capabilities. Projects like this are what drive us at GO Industrial. We operate under the philosophy, 'Today's special is tomorrow's standard,' which means we continuously strive to elevate our services. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Service Bodies Australia and Altrad. While we haven't received any recent updates on the service truck's performance, no news is good news.
