FAQs

Common questions answered.

Five of the questions we hear most often on carpark and street linemarking gear. Full knowledge base on our FAQ page.

  • Filling blade or joint knife: which one?

Filling blade (stiff, narrow, 25 to 100 mm) for filling, surface scraping and detail work - holds filler against the wall, pushes into cracks and gaps. Joint knife (flex, wider, 75 to 245 mm) for broad-surface filling and jointing on plaster repair - flexes against the wall to lay smooth filler. Trade carry both. iQUIP Bonum, Rosewood and Flexible Putty Joint ranges cover the size and stiffness ladder.

  • FastFinish vs standard hopper gun?

Graco FastFinish (25D496) is pressure-boosted - the nozzle adds an air-pressure boost on top of standard hopper-gun gravity feed, giving finer atomisation and a more controlled spray pattern. Right pick for knockdown texture, popcorn ceiling, and any texture-spray work where the finish matters. Standard hopper gun (245924) is gravity-only, lower-cost, covers the bulk of general texture application. Both pair with a compressor for air supply.

  • Why Japanese cloth render-masking tape?

Standard paper masking tape doesn't grip a textured render surface and lifts when paint or render hits the edge. Japanese cloth tape is cloth-backed - the backing holds against the textured render surface and lifts cleanly after dry without tearing the render edge. The right tape for masking door, window and trim edges on render, stipple and stucco coats. iQUIP carries the 36 mm and broader range in 25 m rolls.

  • Texture spray on a Graco airless?

For light texture (orange peel, knockdown) on an airless system, Graco TexSpray RTX air-assisted or the FastFinish hopper gun are the standard options. Heavier texture (Tuscan render, render stucco, heavy stipple) needs a full texture unit - see the Texture & Plaster Sprayers collection. Hopper gun fits the lighter-end of the texture range; full unit covers heavier applications.

  • Do you supply hopper gun spares?

Standard hopper-gun spares are stocked alongside the FastFinish unit. For unit-specific repair kits and parts, send the FastFinish serial to GO and we will pull the matched spares. The wider Graco texture-side spares are in the Texture Spare Parts collection.

Filling & Plastering Tools

Trade plastering, filling and render-application tools - filling blades, joint knives, hopper guns for texture and render, and render-masking tape. 42 products covering interior plaster repair, jointing, render application and the texture-spray hopper guns that pair with airless or air-fed coating systems.

Filling blades and joint knives. iQUIP Bonum Filling Blades, iQUIP Flexible Putty / Joint Knives (38 to 245 mm), and iQUIP Filling Knife with Rosewood Handle (25 to 100 mm) cover the full plaster repair blade range from detail filling up to broad-surface jointing on plaster work. Flexible blades flex against the wall to lay smooth filler; stiff blades hold the filler in detail areas. Trade carry both - small stiff for detail, wider flex for broad work.

FastFinish hopper gun. Graco FastFinish Pressure-Boosted Hopper Gun (25D496) is the air-fed texture and acoustical spray gun used for ceiling texture, popcorn ceiling, knockdown texture, splatter coat and lightweight render application. Air-driven, pressure-boosted nozzle gives finer atomisation than a standard gravity hopper gun. Suits the texture-and-render painter who's not running a full airless texture unit. Pair with a compressor; specs are on the product page.

Graco Texture Spray Air Hopper Gun. Graco Texture Spray Air Hopper Gun (245924) is the standard gravity-fed air hopper gun for general texture work. Lower-spec than FastFinish but covers the bulk of contractor texture-application requirements. Standard air supply, large hopper for production work.

Render-masking tape. iQUIP Japanese Cloth Render Masking Tape (36 mm x 25 m and full range) is the cloth-backed masking tape used to mask edges on render and stucco application - the cloth backing holds against the textured render surface where standard paper masking tape would lift. Use to mask door, window and trim edges on a render or stipple coat. Pulls cleanly from the render edge after dry without lifting the surface.

Combination knives and utility kits. iQUIP 2-Edge Utility / Flex Joint Knife Combo covers the painter's combo carry pair - utility knife for tape cutting and trim, flex joint knife for filling and jointing. Standard kit for the trade where one bag covers two functions.
