Tank Structural Integrity Test

As stated in AS 1940-2017, Fuel Tanks must be tested for its structural integrity within every 10 years, to ensure that it is free from any structural damage that may pose an environmental risk and occupational hazard. The GO Site Team highly recommends that such structural integrity tests should be done every 5 years, especially for tanks that are older than 10 years.

For Above Ground Tanks, the Pressure Test is done by introducing nitrogen into the tank, slowly build up pressure until 2 PSI, and check if the tank is able to hold the pressure for 2 hours. Vacuum Test is done for underground tanks - allowing a more accurate testing and leak location without the need of recovering the tank.

Aside from these tests, AS 1940-2017 recommends that tank vents and fittings shall be inspected regularly. Engage the GO Site Service Team and ensure that your tanks and sites are 100% compliant.
