FAQs

Common questions answered.

Five of the questions we hear most often on carpark and street linemarking gear. Full knowledge base on our FAQ page.

  • AC or DC fuel transfer pump?

240V AC for fixed install (Piusi Panther 56 LPM). 12/24V DC for vehicle-mounted (Piusi EX50 50 LPM at 12V DC). Pick by supply availability at the install location.

  • AdBlue-specific pump - why?

AdBlue (DEF) needs urea-compatible pump materials - SS316 or polypropylene wetted parts. Standard diesel pumps corrode on AdBlue and contaminate the fluid - mandatory failure for Tier 4 + Euro 6 vehicles. Piusi Adam pumps are specifically built for AdBlue.

  • Water filtration - mandatory?

Yes for fleet fuel transfer. Water-contaminated diesel is the most common fleet engine failure cause. Donaldson + Piusi water captors remove water before it enters the vehicle tank. Cheaper than rebuilding injectors.

  • LPM sizing?

50 LPM for typical fleet vehicle refuel. 70-90 LPM for heavy truck + agricultural. 100+ LPM for industrial / mining bulk dispensing. Match LPM to the receiving tank capacity + acceptable fill time.

  • What connection types and thread standards are used with fluid handling equipment?

Australian fluid handling equipment predominantly uses BSP (British Standard Pipe) threads in sizes from 1/4" to 3" BSP. Some imported equipment uses NPT (National Pipe Thread) — adapters are available but check thread type before connecting. Cam-lock fittings (Type A through F) are standard for quick-connect hose couplings on tanks and bowsers. Flanged connections (ANSI 150#, AS 4087 Table D/E) are used on larger installations. Always verify thread type, size and pressure rating before assembly to prevent cross-threading or leaks.

Fluid Handling Equipment

286 products covering pumps, hoses, fittings, filters, gauges, tanks and the full diesel/petrol/AdBlue/lubricant transfer ecosystem. Piusi, Macnaught, Banlaw, Fozmula, GPI, Envirosmart, Donaldson and Adam by Piusi - the AU fluid handling distributor universe under one collection.

Fuel transfer pumps. Piusi Panther (56 LPM 240V AC), Piusi EX50 (50 LPM 12V DC), GPI hand pumps and Macnaught pumps cover diesel transfer at 50-90 LPM range. Match the pump to the supply (240V AC for fixed install, 12/24V DC for vehicle-mounted) + fuel type (diesel, petrol, AdBlue + lubricants each have specific seal compatibility).

AdBlue (DEF). AdBlue (DEF) needs urea-compatible pump materials - SS316 or polypropylene wetted parts. Using standard diesel pump on AdBlue causes corrosion + contamination. Piusi Adam dedicated AdBlue pumps are specifically built for the urea-compatible wetted path. Mandatory for Tier 4 + Euro 6 vehicle fleet servicing.

Filtration. Donaldson AdBlue filtration + Piusi water captor + dispensing kits cover fuel filtration to specification. Water-contaminated diesel is the most common engine failure cause on fleet vehicles - the captor removes water before it enters the vehicle tank.
