As our business continues to scale and expand, we are looking for a senior technician who can work autonomously. The role involves the ownership of inbound equipment services - with strong attention to detail, problem solving and troubleshooting ability to turn around equipment with a sense of urgency. 

As a Senior Service Technician at GO Industrial, you'll be a key member of our workshop team based in Deception Bay. You'll specialize in the servicing, fit-outs, and assembly of a diverse range of fluid handling and industrial equipment, including:  

  • Line marking equipment (push-behind, self propelled and truck mounted applicators)
  • Hydraulic Motor and pumping systems
  • Airless paint sprayers (petrol-driven, electric and pneumatic)
  • Lubrication, diesel and chemical handling pumps, meters and associated equipment
  • Diesel, petrol and electric-driven pressure cleaners
  • Water purification systems and pumps
  • Dustless sanders and extractors

This role requires a strong understanding of pumps, motors, fluid management systems, and basic electronics. You'll be responsible for diagnosing faults, performing preventative maintenance, conducting repairs, and ensuring equipment is operating at peak performance.  

While 80% of the role is workshop-based, there will be opportunities for site work and local travel, adding variety to your day.  We will invest a significant amount of industry specific electrical and mechanical fitting training in you for product-specific knowledge, to arm you with the skills needed to excel in this role.  

Responsibilities:

  • Service, maintain, and repair a wide range of fluid handling equipment
  • Diagnose faults and troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
  • Assemble and fit out new equipment
  • Provide technical support to customers and colleagues
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation
  • Adhere to safety protocols at all times
  • Occasional site visits and local travel

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Trade qualification in mechanics or a related field
  • Proficient experience with pumps, motors, and fluid management systems
  • Sound troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to safety  
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment if necessary

The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Control Design Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electrical control systems for our innovative downstream commercial petroleum equipment packages. You will work closely with the Manager Electrical and our wider team to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Your Role

In this role, you will:

  • Design and develop electrical control systems, including schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
  • Program and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), preferably with Schneider equipment.
  • Select and specify electrical components and equipment.
  • Collaborate with our Operations Team and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Conduct testing and commissioning of control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing control systems.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For

We value a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Minimum tertiary qualification of an Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering.   
  • Proven experience in electrical control system design and PLC programming.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming languages and software, preferably with Schneider equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical).
  • Understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet, Modbus).
  • Knowledge of electrical safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • It would be great if you also had Hazardous Area Design Experience and Qualifications
