Inefficient manual tasks can significantly disrupt workflow. This was a core challenge at Coates' Eagle Farm workshop, where persistent manual handling, disorganised fluid systems, and subsequent downtime were impacting operational productivity.

Coates required a solution to streamline their operations and fundamentally transform their fluid management processes for oils, grease, coolant, air and servicing fluids. GO Industrial through our CEA Petroleum channel to market, addressed this need by delivering a bespoke lubrication and fluid handling system, designed to break down the workshop productivity barriers, enhance safety and ease of operation.

The Complete Workshop Fitout 

These workshop setups really highlight what CEA Petroleum can do. We're talking everything from self bunded tanks for waste oil, to our own in-house, custom-built hose reel stands, and best of brands in fluid handling equipment. We sat down with the Coates Hire team to figure out exactly what they needed. With a busy fleet to keep running and daily jobs to handle, they needed a system that could keep up with the pace. Here’s what the brains-trust mustered up:

The External Set Up - IBC Storage & Dispensing, Fuel Storage & Air Compressor

• Separate lubrication and coolant storage: Instead of drums, the teams turned to IBCs. The operators can easily disconnect, swap and reconnect replenishment IBCs when depleted. These are all fitted out with isolation valves to minimise leaks.

• STORE-5.5 Diesel Self Bunded Tank: A simple, yet efficient 5,500L set up with all fuel dispensing equipment inside - safe from the elements. The enclosed and lockable pump bay on the STORE-5.5 reduces the threat of fuel theft, and keeps the heart of the system out of harm’s way.

• Compressor and holding tank: The team connected the compressor to the building’s air ring, delivering individual pressure control to each dispensing pump. This reduces the risks of leaving pumps under, or over-pressurised.

• BOX-2.25 Self Bunded Waste Oil Tank: 2,250L of waste oil, ready to store bulk waste oils from the workshop behind the wall.  Equipped with an automated indicator that lights red at 80% full — Coates staff have a visual and audible alarm to contact their oil supplier for evacuation and emptying.

Inside the Workshop: Oil, Grease & Coolant Dispensing Simplified

• Dedicated Hose Reels for Lubricants: Installed for various engine oils, hydraulic oil, air and coolant. Clearly labeled with laser-etched plates, all designed for streamlined integration and seamless access. The additional ‘Spare’ reel provision helps Coates keep up with growing demand to easily install extra fluids, coolants or oils.

• Waste oil system: No manual handling required - the waste oil filters into a stainless steel tray fixed to the hose reel stand, and is extracted with a Graco Husky Diaphragm Pump, evacuating directly to the self bunded waste oil tank behind the wall.
