Air-Operated Diaphragm Pumps
53 air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pumps from Husky, ARO and Graco for chemical transfer, viscous fluid handling, sump pumping and industrial fluid transfer where electric pumps cannot operate safely. Self-priming, dry-run safe, deadhead safe.
Why diaphragm. Air-operated double diaphragm pumps run on shop air supply (no electric motor) - safe in hazardous (Class I Div 1/2) area, intrinsically safe in explosive atmosphere, self-priming, dry-run safe (won't burn out if line goes empty), deadhead safe (won't blow seals if outlet blocks). The right pick for chemical transfer, abrasive slurry, food-grade and any hazardous-area fluid transfer.
Sizing - port size + flow. 1/2 inch port diaphragm: up to 50 LPM. 1 inch: up to 200 LPM. 2 inch: up to 600 LPM. 3 inch: up to 1,000+ LPM. Higher flow needs higher air consumption + larger compressor - check the air supply spec before quoting a big diaphragm pump.
Wetted material match. Match diaphragm + ball + seat material to the fluid chemistry. PTFE for solvent + chemical compatibility. Santoprene for general industrial. Buna-N for petroleum. EPDM for water-based. Wrong material = diaphragm swells + fails within hours.
