Diaphragm Pumps.

Choose an air-operated (AODD) or electric (EODD) diaphragm pump for transferring oils, fuels, chemicals, coatings or wastewater across mining, manufacturing, transport and process applications. Connection sizes run from 1/4 inch through to 3 inch ports, with the Graco Husky 3300 handling up to 1,135 L/min for bulk industrial transfer. Body materials include aluminium, polypropylene, PVDF, acetal and 316 stainless steel to match fluid compatibility.

The range covers three brands across five product families: Graco (Husky and ChemSafe air-operated, QUANTM electric), Macnaught (DDP and Lubemate) and Piusi (MA range, ATEX zone 2 certified). All pumps ship with manufacturer warranty, and our Brisbane technical team is available to specify a pump for your fluid, viscosity and flow requirement.

FAQs

Common questions answered.

Five of the questions we hear most often on carpark and street linemarking gear. Full knowledge base on our FAQ page.

  • Why air-operated over electric?

Safe in hazardous-area / Class I Div 1/2 zone. Intrinsically safe in explosive atmosphere - electric motors cannot operate there. Self-priming (suction-side dry start), dry-run safe (no burn-out if line goes empty), deadhead safe (no blown seals if outlet blocks). The right pick for chemical, slurry, food-grade and hazardous-area fluid transfer.

  • Port size + flow rate?

1/2 inch port up to 50 LPM. 1 inch up to 200 LPM. 2 inch up to 600 LPM. 3 inch up to 1,000+ LPM. Higher flow needs higher air consumption + larger compressor - check air supply before quoting big diaphragm pump.

  • Wetted material - why match?

Match diaphragm + ball + seat material to fluid chemistry. PTFE for solvent + chemical. Santoprene general industrial. Buna-N petroleum. EPDM water-based. Wrong material = diaphragm swells, cracks and fails within hours, contaminating the fluid stream.

  • Air consumption?

Diaphragm pumps consume compressed air. Typical: 200 SCFM at 100 PSI for a 2 inch pump at max flow. Match to compressor capacity. Undersized compressor will run continuously and overheat.

  • Do you supply diaphragm pump service kits and spare diaphragms?

Yes. Replacement diaphragms, ball checks, air valve kits and full overhaul kits are stocked for the Graco Husky, Macnaught DDP and Piusi MA ranges. Service kits are paired to each pump model, so contact our team with the pump serial or part number to confirm the correct kit.

Air-Operated Diaphragm Pumps

53 air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pumps from Husky, ARO and Graco for chemical transfer, viscous fluid handling, sump pumping and industrial fluid transfer where electric pumps cannot operate safely. Self-priming, dry-run safe, deadhead safe.

Why diaphragm. Air-operated double diaphragm pumps run on shop air supply (no electric motor) - safe in hazardous (Class I Div 1/2) area, intrinsically safe in explosive atmosphere, self-priming, dry-run safe (won't burn out if line goes empty), deadhead safe (won't blow seals if outlet blocks). The right pick for chemical transfer, abrasive slurry, food-grade and any hazardous-area fluid transfer.

Sizing - port size + flow. 1/2 inch port diaphragm: up to 50 LPM. 1 inch: up to 200 LPM. 2 inch: up to 600 LPM. 3 inch: up to 1,000+ LPM. Higher flow needs higher air consumption + larger compressor - check the air supply spec before quoting a big diaphragm pump.

Wetted material match. Match diaphragm + ball + seat material to the fluid chemistry. PTFE for solvent + chemical compatibility. Santoprene for general industrial. Buna-N for petroleum. EPDM for water-based. Wrong material = diaphragm swells + fails within hours.
