FAQs

Common questions answered.

Five of the questions we hear most often on carpark and street linemarking gear. Full knowledge base on our FAQ page.

  • Why surface cleaner?

Wand-cleaning leaves stripe marks because pressure varies under the operator's hand. Surface cleaner rotates jet under a housing for even pressure across wider path - no stripes, faster coverage, less fatigue. Critical for driveway + carpark + warehouse floor.

  • Sizing to pressure washer?

    Match cleaner width to PW flow + pressure. 380mm needs ~3,000 PSI x 12 L/min minimum. 500mm needs 3,500 PSI x 15+ L/min. 750mm needs 4,000+ PSI x 21+ L/min. Undersized PW = stripes return.

  • Twin- or quad-jet?

Twin-jet entry tier; quad-jet faster coverage + smoother pressure across the path. Production users prefer quad-jet.

  • How to match a surface cleaner with a pressure washer?

Matching your surface cleaner to your pressure washer is vital for getting great results, and it's easier than you think. Getting this combination right ensures your equipment runs efficiently, cleans effectively, and avoids damage. It all comes down to two key numbers: PSI (Pounds per Square Inch) and LPM (Litres Per Minute).

Here’s the simple way to get a suitable match for your pressure washing equipment:

    • Check the Ratings: Every surface cleaner has a maximum PSI and a recommended LPM range. You need to make sure your pressure washer's output fits within these specifications. Never use a surface cleaner with a pressure washer that exceeds its maximum PSI rating.
    • The "Rule of 4": A great rule of thumb is that for every 4 inches of surface cleaner diameter, you need at least 1 GPM (or roughly 3.8 LPM) of flow. So, a 16-inch surface cleaner would need at least 4 GPM (about 15 LPM) to work efficiently.
    • Nozzle Sizing is Key: The nozzles on the spinning bar inside the cleaner are crucial. They must be sized correctly for your machine's specific PSI and LPM. Using the wrong nozzles can lead to poor cleaning, wobbly operation, or even damage to your pump.

Pro tip: Most professional-grade industrial cleaning tools will list compatible pressure washer specs. Always check the product description or manual. If you're unsure, it's always best to ask an expert.

  • How do I maintain surface cleaners for long service life?

After each use, flush clean water through the system and wipe down external surfaces. Inspect hoses, fittings and o-rings for wear or cracking before each use. Change pump oil per the OEM schedule (typically every 50-100 hours for petrol units). Store indoors or under cover to prevent UV degradation of hoses and seals. For seasonal storage, run a pump-saver solution through the system to prevent mineral buildup and corrosion. Replace worn nozzles before they affect spray pattern — a worn nozzle increases water consumption and reduces cleaning efficiency.

Surface Cleaners

13 rotating surface cleaner attachments for pressure washers. Twin- or quad-jet head sweeps a 380 to 750 mm wide path with even pressure across the path - cleans concrete, paving, driveway and warehouse floor 5-10 times faster than a wand.

Why surface cleaner. Wand-cleaning leaves stripe marks across the surface because pressure varies under the operator's hand. Surface cleaner rotates jet under the housing for even pressure across a wider path - no stripes, faster coverage, less operator fatigue. Critical for driveway, carpark and warehouse floor work.

Sizing. Match the surface cleaner width to the pressure washer flow + pressure. 380 mm cleaner needs ~3,000 PSI x 12 L/min minimum. 500 mm needs 3,500 PSI x 15+ L/min. 750 mm needs 4,000+ PSI x 21+ L/min. Undersized PW + oversized cleaner = stripes return.
