  • Tungsten or diamond cutter?

    Tungsten carbide for general concrete + light coating. Diamond-tipped for harder substrates + heavier coating removal. Diamond costs more but lasts 2-3x longer on hard aggregate.

  • Service life?

    4-12 hours of cutting on concrete depending on aggregate hardness + coating. Replace at spec wear interval - dull cutters drop production rate + leave inconsistent profile.

  • 4-point vs 6-point cutter?

    More points = more cut per rotation but each point takes a smaller bite. 4-point for heavy material removal (deeper bite). 6-point for finer profile + smoother surface.

  • Can I change cutters in the field?

    Yes, Graco designs their cutter assemblies for straightforward field changeover. Drum-style cutters mount directly to the scarifier's drive shaft, allowing operators to swap between cutter types on site to match different job requirements. This flexibility means you can carry multiple cutter types and configure your machine for each specific task without returning to the workshop.

  • CSP profile?

    Concrete Surface Profile (CSP) 1-9 scale per ICRI 310.2. CSP 1-2 from light grinding for paint. CSP 3-5 from scarifying for self-leveller + epoxy floor. CSP 6-9 from shot-blast for heavy industrial coating. Match the profile to the coating spec.
