FAQs

Common questions answered.

Five of the questions we hear most often on carpark and street linemarking gear. Full knowledge base on our FAQ page.

  • Alpha Scrubber or Alpha Glide?

Alpha Scrubber for general window + facade work - standard bristle. Alpha Glide for delicate surfaces (high-end facade, painted surface) where standard bristle would mark - softer bristle, smoother finish.

  • Hose length?

Match the hose length to the work radius from the RO/DI unit + supply pump. Too short limits the operator; too long is dead weight to carry. Standard 25-50 m hose for typical commercial work.

  • Bristle material?

Nylon-PBT blend - scrubs glass + anodised aluminium frame + solar panel coatings without scratching. Standard across the Tucker brush head range.

  • What are some common issues with a water fed brush head and how do I fix them?

Even the best gear can have small hiccups. The most common issue you'll face with a water fed brush head is reduced or uneven water flow from the jets. Nine times out of ten, this is simply due to a small blockage from a tiny piece of dirt or grit. The fix is super easy. Just use a small pin or a jet poker to gently clear out the blocked hole. It’s a great idea to carry a safety pin in your wallet for this very reason, it’ll get you back to work in seconds.

Another issue can be streaking, but this is rarely the fault of the brush itself. Streaking is almost always a sign that your pure water isn't actually pure anymore, meaning it's time to check your filters. A quick check with your TDS meter will tell you if your DI resin needs replacing. Keeping your jets clear and your water pure will solve most problems you'll ever encounter.

  • How do I select the right hoses & brush heads for my project?

Selection depends on the surface type, coating material and finish quality required. For large flat surfaces (walls, ceilings), choose wider tools that maximise coverage speed. For detail work (trims, edges, corners), choose narrower or precision-profiled tools. Material compatibility matters: natural fibre tools suit solvent-based coatings; synthetic tools suit water-based coatings. For trade and commercial work, specify professional-grade tools rated for repeated use. Check the product description for recommended surface types and coating compatibility.

Hoses & Brush Heads

6 hoses and brush heads for the Tucker water-fed pole window + solar panel cleaning system. Brush heads, replacement pole brushes and the hose connecting the pole to the RO/DI water purification unit.

Brush head selection. Tucker Alpha Scrubber and Alpha Glide brush heads cover the water-fed pole range. Scrubber for general window + facade work; Glide for delicate surfaces (high-end building facade, painted surface) where the standard bristle would mark. Nylon-PBT bristle scrubs glass + anodised aluminium frame + solar panel coatings without scratching.

Hose to pole. Standard pole hose connects the water supply (typically the RO/DI purification unit) to the pole base. Push-fit quick-connect at both ends. Match the hose length to the work radius - too short limits the operator, too long is dead weight to carry.
