FAQs

Common questions answered.

Five of the questions we hear most often on carpark and street linemarking gear. Full knowledge base on our FAQ page.

  • What tonnage do I need?

Match the rating to the heaviest load + 1.5x safety. Light truck axle 2-4t, medium 4-8t, heavy truck 6-12t. Pick 10t bottle for light truck axle, 20t for medium, 32t to 50t for heavy and prime mover. Don't undersize on safety margin.

  • Air-hydraulic or manual pump?

Manual pump is fine for occasional use. Air-hydraulic (Borum 50,000 kg) is production workshop spec - air supply drives the hydraulic action, faster cycle, less operator fatigue on high-volume work. Pair with shop air supply at 90-120 PSI.

  • Bottle vs trolley jack?

Bottle = vertical action, compact footprint, high tonnage per dollar (10-100t). Trolley = horizontal action with wheels, lower lift height, suits low-clearance automotive (2-5t typical). Bottle for truck + machinery; trolley for cars.

  • Do I need jack stands?

Yes. Vehicle on a jack alone is unsafe. Always transfer the load to jack stands before working under. Jack-stand-failure under load is a known workshop fatality cause - never shortcut this.

  • What warranty and after-sales service is available for bottle jacks?

All bottle jacks sold through GO Industrial are supplied with the manufacturer's standard warranty, which typically ranges from 12 months to 3 years depending on the product and brand. GO Industrial provides national service support through our Queensland-based technical team and authorised service partners in all Australian states. Warranty claims are managed directly — contact our team with the purchase order number and fault description for assessment. Extended warranty and preventive maintenance programs are available on selected equipment categories.

Bottle Jacks

Vertical-action hydraulic bottle jacks from TradeQuip and Borum, rated 10t to 50t (and Borum 50,000 kg air-hydraulic variant). High-tonnage lifting in compact footprint - the trade standard for truck workshop, machinery service and heavy plant work where a trolley jack lacks the tonnage.

Tonnage ladder. 10t for light truck axle work. 12t to 20t for medium truck axle and unit lifting. 32t to 50t for heavy truck, prime mover, mining truck axles. Air-hydraulic variants (Borum 50,000 kg) for production workshop where manual pumping slows the cycle. Match tonnage to the heaviest load + 1.5x safety. Never undersize on safety margin.

Safety rule. Vehicle on a jack alone is unsafe. Always transfer the load to jack stands before working under. Jack stands take the static load; the jack is backup. Jack-stand-failure under load is a known workshop fatality cause.
