QUICK REFERENCE

Training at a glance.

What you can expect when you book training or commissioning with us.

Half day or full day

Operator training and council refreshers run half a day. Long line truck commissioning runs a full day on site.

We come to you

On-site delivery Australia-wide on request. We ship the unit, then a technician comes out and runs the program with your team.

Water-based demo

We test and demo with water as standard. Want to run your paint and beads on the day? Tell us when you book, no problem.

Compliance aware

ATS 4110, PCCP Category B, AS 4049, 1:1 CAP / MMA cold plastic. We work to the spec your tender or fleet manager needs.

WHAT WE OFFER

Four ways we train your team.

Pick the path that matches what's happening. New unit landing? Operator turnover? Tender just landed? Council refresh time of year? Each program runs differently.

On-site commissioning. On-site

On-site commissioning.

We ship the unit to you, then come out on site and walk your team over it. The specs, the features, how to use the features, safety, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance.

  • Unit walk-over: specs and key features
  • How to use the features (start-up, pressure, controls)
  • Safety procedures
  • Operation on water demo (your paint and beads if supplied)
  • Troubleshooting basics and routine maintenance

Council Refresher. Refresher

Council Refresher.

Council crews picking the gear back up after time off it? Half-day refresh focused on safety, compliance and what's changed since last use.

  • Safety walk-through (PPE, gun safety, fluid pressure)
  • Compliance refresh: ATS 4110, AS 4049, traffic management
  • Wear-and-tear inspection (tips, packings, filters)
  • Bead embedment targets and quality check
  • Q&A on the units you're actually running
Half day · Australia-wide on request
Long line truck commissioning. Long line truck

Long line truck commissioning.

RoadPak modules and custom-built long line trucks. Multi-gun pressurised bead systems, in-cab controls, weight-scale bead tanks, Skip-Line programming and operation. We commission the rig end-to-end on water and hand over to your operators.

  • Full unit walk-over: pump module, bead tanks, fluid lines, electrics
  • Skip-Line programming and operation: camera setup, laser alignment, multi-gun valve mapping
  • In-cab controls and on-the-fly pattern changes

WHAT'S COVERED

What we work through.

Every program is tailored, but these are the topics that come up most often.

01 · Setup

Machine setup & start-up

Cold-start procedure, prime, pressure-set on Endurance Chromex pumps, fluid system bleed, motor / engine checks, battery health on ES models.

02 · Tips

Spray tip selection

RAC 5 LL5 family for line marking. Choosing tip size for line width (100 mm, 150 mm, 200 mm). When to change tips. Reversible-tip clearing technique.

03 · Paint

Paint & coating selection

Waterborne, solvent-borne, thermoplastic, 1:1 CAP / MMA. Compatibility with your unit. APAS / AS 4049 reference for the spec.

04 · Beads

Glass bead embedment

Target 50-60% embedment. How wet film thickness drives it. Type B / C / D bead grades. Drop-on vs pressurised. Retroreflectivity testing.

05 · Lines

Application technique

Travel speed, gun height, fan overlap, start-stop control. Skip-line pattern setup. LazerGuide laser alignment. Double-line concurrent application.

06 · Truck

Long line truck commissioning

Pump module integration, Skip-Line programming and operation (cameras, lasers, multi-gun valve mapping), in-cab controls, bead-tank weight scales.

07 · Thermo

Thermoplastic operation

ThermoLazer ProMelt heat-up, screed box technique, melt-temperature targets (180-210 °C), intermix bead loading, gas / burner safety.

08 · Clean

End-of-day clean-out

Clean-out solvents and water-based flush. Pump Armour protocol. Storage and freeze protection. What kills a pump and how to avoid it.

09 · Faults

Troubleshooting basics

Common faults across LineLazer, RoadPak and ThermoLazer. What you can fix on the side of the road. What to FaceTime us about.

WHO IT'S FOR

Built for the people we work with.

We tailor every program to who's in the room. Here's the four main audiences and what each one usually wants.

Council fleets

Local government crews

Council refresher days focused on safety and compliance. New-unit handover, operator certification logs. Mixed gear lists across walk-behind and ride-on units.

Contractors

Line marking contractors

ATS 4110 / PCCP awareness, long line truck commissioning, 1:1 CAP / MMA cold-plastic systems, retroreflectivity targets for state-road tender work.

Mines

Mine site & heavy haul

Type B bead embedment at 60% for heavy-truck pavement, waterborne paint on iron-ore haul roads, 400 micron wet film calibration.

Airports

Airport & runway

Multi-gun long line truck commissioning, Skip-Line programming and operation, dual-colour piano-key application, bead-tank weight-scale calibration.

HOW IT WORKS

From enquiry to operators trained.

Four steps. The first call is always free, we work out scope before any quote goes out.

1

Tell us what you need

Call, text or email. Tell us the unit, the team size, where they are, and what triggered the request.

2

We scope it

Half day, full day, on-site or workshop. We confirm what we cover, what you'll need on the day (paint and beads if you want them), and pricing.

3

We ship and turn up

The unit ships to you. Our technician then comes out on site and runs the program with your team. Water demo is standard, your paint and beads on request.

4

Sign-off and follow-up

You get a written summary of what was covered and any settings we tuned. We're on the phone for follow-up questions for the next 90 days.

FAQS

Training questions.

Six common ones. Full FAQ knowledge base on the FAQ page.

Is training included when I buy a new unit from GO?

Yes. Standard handover and basic operator orientation is included on every new unit we sell. For deeper training, long line truck commissioning, or council refresher days, those are quoted separately. Ask us when you're scoping the unit.

Do you supply demo paint and beads, or do we?

Water demo is standard, and we bring everything for that. If you want the training run on your actual paint and beads (so the team feels real flow and embedment), bring a drum and a bag on the day and we'll happily set up on those. Tell us when you book so we plan tip sizes accordingly.

Can you train on a unit we didn't buy from GO?

Yes. We train and commission across the full Graco range regardless of where it was bought. Bring service history if you have it. If the unit has been heavily modified, we'll do a pre-run inspection so the training time is spent on operation rather than reverse-engineering a previous fitter's work.

Do you provide certification or sign-off documents?

You get a written training summary covering what was run, who attended, settings tuned, and recommended pre-shift checks. We don't issue formal third-party certification, but the document is what most council and contractor fleet managers attach to their operator records.

How many operators can you train at once?

Four to six is the sweet spot. We can run up to eight, but at that size you start losing hands-on time per operator. For larger crews we usually split into two half-day sessions or run a follow-up day a week later.

What does it cost?

Pricing depends on program length, location, and how many operators are involved. Half-day sessions are the most popular and the most cost-effective. Long line truck commissioning is quoted per rig. Send us the scope and we'll send a quote back same business day.

Want training booked in?

Tell us the unit, the team, the location, and what you want them walking away knowing. We'll come back same business day with a scope and a quote.
