Tank Medic

Tank Medic is a highly concentrated fuel biocide formulated to eliminate and then control water, bacteria and fungi in fuel storage. From the running tank of a vehicle to a bulk storage tank, it harmlessly dissolves and disperses water and biological contamination, which then flows through the fuel system to be burnt off during combustion.

Fuel bug is made up of microscopic fungi, bacteria and yeasts that live at the interface between water and diesel, feeding on the organic fuel and reproducing rapidly in the water left by condensation. Symptoms include blocked dispensing or engine filters, hazy fuel, corrosion of components and storage tanks, and damage to injectors and fuel pumps.

An initial dosage of 2 litres for every 1000 litres of fuel is recommended to purge the system of contaminants. Regular dosage can then be reduced to as little as 1 litre for every 4000 litres, maintaining fuel quality, absorbing condensation and preventing biological growth. Where growth is inhibiting flow, up to 5 litres may be added per 1000 litres. In all cases Tank Medic should be added before the fuel, and because it attacks existing growth the initial dosing may require more frequent filter cleaning, so drain high levels of water first where possible.
