  • Filter replacement interval?

    6-12 months on daily use. HEPA filter rating required for silica + fine particulate. Don't run beyond spec - clogged filter drops suction + lets fine dust through to operator.

  • Hose diameter?

    Mirka extractors use 27mm and 36mm hose standard. 27mm for compact handheld sanders; 36mm for larger sanders + higher flow. Match to the sander's spec hose port.

  • Genuine vs aftermarket?

    Genuine Mirka for guaranteed fit + filter rating + warranty. Aftermarket filters may not match the spec filter rating - critical for silica + HEPA compliance.

  • Why is dust extraction important for sanding?

    Effective dust extraction improves finish quality by preventing dust particles from contaminating the sanding surface, protects operator health by capturing fine particulates before inhalation, and maintains a cleaner workspace. Mirka's dustless sanding system is particularly valued in occupied spaces and environments where dust contamination is a concern.

  • What abrasive grit sequence should I use with mirka® accessories for dust extractors?

    Start with a coarser grit to remove material quickly, then step through finer grits for a smooth finish. For bare timber: P80 → P120 → P180. For paint preparation: P120 → P180 → P240. For topcoat finishing: P240 → P320 → P400+. Skip no more than one grit step at a time — skipping grits leaves scratch marks visible under the final coat. When using dust-free sanding systems, ensure the extraction hose is connected and the extractor bag or HEPA filter is not blocked, as blocked extraction reduces both finish quality and operator safety.

Genuine Mirka parts matched to the DEROS, DEOS, LEROS and Mirka 1230/1242 dust extractor ranges.

HEPA filter replacement. Mirka HEPA filters for the 1230, 1242, 1025L, 415, 915 dust extractors - replace at the spec interval (typically 6-12 months on daily use) to maintain HEPA-rated 99.97 percent capture at 0.3 micron. Required for Safe Work AU silica compliance (0.05 mg/m3) on concrete + masonry sanding work. Don't run beyond the filter spec interval - clogged filter drops suction and lets fine dust through to the operator.

Vacuum hoses. 27mm hose for Mirka DEROS, DEOS and LEROS sanders. 32mm hose for higher-flow extractor connections. 20mm hose for hand sanding blocks. Antistatic variants for static-sensitive applications. Hose swivel adapters reduce kink + drag at the sander connection. The Carry Bag for Mirka Hose covers transport between sites.
