The Donaldson P506159 DN40 (1 1/2") TRAP breather is designed for installation on bulk diesel, lubricant and hydraulic tanks to remove particulate and moisture from air entering the tank during dispensing. It combines a high capacity 3 micron air filter with a deliquescent breather that regenerates itself when air is expelled from the tank, and the self regenerating moisture blocking capability of T.R.A.P. enables extended life and functionality. Donaldson T.R.A.P. breathers strip moisture vapour from intake air and expel it back to the atmosphere on the outflow cycle, continuously regenerating their water holding capacity so there is no need to change the breather due to water saturation, unlike desiccant filters. For every litre of liquid dispensed from a tank or drum, a litre of moisture and dust laden air enters the vessel, and the TRAP breather filters that air to protect the cleanliness of the stored liquid.
Features
- 3 Micron at 97%: Captures 97% of particulate at 3 micron out of the air entering the tank.
- High Air Flow: Rated to 500 litres per minute of air, so it keeps up with a bulk tank being drawn down hard.
- DN40 Connection: A 1 1/2 inch BSP female brass socket threads straight into a bulk tank port.
- Relief Valve: A 0.15 bar relief valve protects the tank if the element loads and air cannot get through fast enough.
- Wide Temperature Band: Rated from -40 C to 93 C, so it works outdoors year round.
