The Fill-Rite 900 Series is the high flow meter in the mechanical range. A nutating disc chamber counts the fluid as it passes, so there is no power supply, no battery and nothing electronic to fail. The four digit counter reads the batch up to 999.9 litres and zeroes from the knob on the side, and a separate non-resettable totaliser holds throughput for the life of the meter.
Three builds. The 901CL takes 1 inch BSP ports and the 901CL1.5 takes 1.5 inch. The 901CNL1.5 is nickel plated with fluorocarbon seals, which is the build for biodiesel to B20 and non-potable water. All three are litre register, rated to 50 psi and accurate to plus or minus 2 percent.
Ports are bolt-on flanges rather than threaded castings, and the cover assembly rotates to any of four positions, so one meter suits horizontal or vertical pipework. Calibration is a screwdriver job against a container of known volume, done anywhere between 23 and 151 litres a minute. The faceplate is marked not to be used to measure liquid for resale, so these record your own usage rather than serving as trade measurement.
Features
- Nutating Disc Chamber: Passes rust and small debris that jam other meter types, so a little tank sediment does not stop the count.
- Litre Register: Four digit counter reads the batch to 999.9 litres, with a separate non-resettable totaliser holding lifetime volume.
- Cast Aluminium Body: Rated to 50 psi (3.5 bar) working pressure across an operating range of -26 to 66 °C.
- Bolt-On Port Flanges: Fill-Rite lists flange kits in 1 inch and 1.5 inch, NPT or BSPT, so the port is a bolted joint rather than a thread cut into the casting.
- Four Port Positions: The cover assembly rotates, so one meter suits horizontal or vertical pipework and either flow direction.
- Field Calibration: A screwdriver and a container of known volume is all it takes, anywhere between 23 and 151 litres a minute.
- Nickel Plated Option: The 901CNL1.5 runs fluorocarbon seals and adds biodiesel to B20 and non-potable water.
- Marked And Rated: cULus Listed, CE and Ex II 2G c T6, made in the USA, backed by a two year warranty.

Installation
- Flow Direction: Meters are supplied for horizontal pipework with left to right flow. An arrow on the casting shows the direction.
- Changing Direction: Determine the flow direction first, then remove the four screws, rotate the meter cover assembly to the orientation you need and replace the screws. Ports can sit in any of four positions for horizontal or vertical pipe and either direction of flow.
- Flanges: Ports are bolt-on flanges. Fill-Rite lists kits as KIT900PF1N and KIT900PF1.5N in NPT, KIT900PF1B and KIT900PF1.5B in BSPT, each a pair of flanges with o-rings and hardware.
- Mounting On A Pump: Kit versions of this meter have a four hole flange base for 300 and 700 series pumps. Bolt through the two holes that line up with the pump outlet, then plug the two unused holes so moisture cannot get in.
- Sealing: Seal every threaded joint with the appropriate sealant or sealant tape.
- Pressure: Do not exceed 50 psi (3.5 bar) line pressure. Do not fit an additional foot valve or check valve without a pressure relief valve, or the body can crack.
- Calibration: Calibrate on installation, after any strip down, after significant wear and whenever you change to a fluid of different viscosity. Calibration must be done between 23 and 151 litres a minute against a container of known volume. Anticlockwise on the calibration screw reduces the reading, clockwise increases it.
- Air: The meter and the pipework either side of it must stay full of liquid and free of air, or the count drifts and the disc can be damaged.
