Product details

A road-registered, self bunded fuel trailer built for high-volume mobile refuelling across large worksites and remote operations. The 2,000L SBHD2000 separates the tank module from the chassis so the fuel module is isolated from towing stresses, and rear tow-and-leave connections let you deploy the trailer independently of your tow vehicle.

Approved to AS1692, AS1940 and the Australian Dangerous Goods Code for road transport of diesel, petrol, kerosene and aviation fuels. Heavy duty build for on and off road service, with more than 150 trailers in this design supplied into Australian and global markets.

This is a bare trailer with the pump bay housing fitted as standard. The dispensing kit, hose reel and nozzle are sold separately so you can match the configuration to your flow rate and power source, and an in-cab brake controller is required for the electric brakes.

Features
  • Separate Tank and Chassis: The self bunded tank module sits independently on the aluminium chassis, isolating the tank body from towing vibration and road stress, and the primary tank module is removable for cleaning or replacement.

  • Fully Baffled Tank: Internal baffles prevent fuel surge during transport, keeping the trailer stable under braking, acceleration and cornering on public roads, mine access tracks and remote sites.

  • Drawbar Pump Bay: A fully bunded, weatherproof bay on the drawbar with two lockable reverse-opening doors protects the pump, meter and filtration, with DN40 suction and a pre-installed foot valve.

  • Tow and Leave: Two suction and two return points at the rear let you drop the trailer on site and connect a hose reel without opening the pump bay, turning it into a stationary fuel station.

  • Aluminium Dual-Axle Chassis: Roller / rocker suspension and a tare around 1,100 kg keep gross vehicle weight under 3 tonnes for excellent payload efficiency.

  • Electric Brakes: Standard electric brakes are compliant in every Australian state and territory and require an in-cab brake controller for proportional braking.

  • ADG Approved: Approved to AS1692, AS1940 and the Australian Dangerous Goods Code, rated for diesel, petrol, kerosene and aviation fuels, with a 304 stainless steel primary tank option for AVGAS and JET A1.

FAQs

Common questions.

What licence class do I need to tow the 2000L?
Licence requirements depend on your tow vehicle's GVM and the loaded trailer. With a gross weight under 3,000 kg, you may require a higher licence class than for the 1,250L model. Check with your state road authority to confirm your licence permits towing the loaded combination.
Why does the 2000L model have electric brakes?
The 2000L model is fitted with electric brakes as standard because of its increased weight and capacity. Electric brakes provide superior control on rough terrain and extended remote deployments. An in-cab controller lets the driver modulate trailer braking independently.
Do I need an in-cab brake controller?
Yes. The 2000L is fitted with electric brakes, which require an in-cab controller to operate safely. Confirm your tow vehicle is equipped with a compatible controller before deployment.
Can I store petrol or aviation fuel in the 2000L?
The 2000L is rated for diesel, petrol, kerosene and aviation fuels (one fluid type per deployment). Standard construction suits all these fluids. A 304 stainless steel tank option is available for AVGAS and JET A1 applications. Use the correct ADG placarding and Hazchem labels for the fluid being transported.
What pump configurations can the pump bay accept?
The drawbar pump bay accepts 12V DC, 24V DC and hand pump configurations. For the 2,000L capacity we recommend higher-flow options such as a 24V 85 LPM kit, a heavy-duty hand pump, or a petrol-driven engine pump (up to 115 LPM). Solar panel kits for 12V battery charging are available.
How much fuel can I dispense per hour?
Dispensing rate depends on the pump configuration. With a 24V 85 LPM pump, around 5,100 litres per hour. With a hand pump (15-20 LPM), 900 to 1,200 litres per hour. A petrol-driven engine pump (115 LPM) delivers around 6,900 litres per hour.
Is the 2000L suitable for long-distance remote operations?
Yes. The 2,000L capacity reduces resupply tanker visits, and the tow-and-leave design lets you deploy independently of the tow vehicle. Electric brakes and the fully baffled tank ensure safe handling on rough access tracks and extended remote deployments.
What safety equipment do I need to carry?
Minimum 4.5 kg dry chemical fire extinguisher must travel with the trailer. Display correct Hazchem and dangerous goods placards during road transport per ADG Code requirements. Always connect the trailer to an earthing point before dispensing flammable liquids; earthing cable and clamp available as an accessory.
