FAQs

Common questions answered.

Five of the questions we hear most often on carpark and street linemarking gear. Full knowledge base on our FAQ page.

  • Why Honda GX?

Honda GX is the contractor industry standard for petrol pressure washers - reliability proven across decades, parts and service availability Australia-wide, long service life under daily duty. GX160 (5.5 HP) for entry commercial, GX270 (9 HP) for mid, GX390 (13 HP) for heavy, GX390 V-twin for the heaviest single-engine spec. Spec the engine HP to the pump flow + pressure - undersized engines lug and die early.

  • Axial or triplex?

Axial for entry commercial (1-2 hr continuous duty, then cool-down). Triplex for daily commercial (6-8 hr continuous duty rating). Triplex pumps are belt or gear-driven, run at lower pump RPM, produce higher pressure and last much longer. Daily contractor work = triplex.

  • Hornet G2 vs Senator G2 vs Executive G2?

    Hornet G2 is the mid-commercial petrol line (4060 PSI x 15 L/min on the 280-15, 3000 PSI x 21 L/min on the 200-21). Senator G2 is the high-flow commercial (4060 PSI x 21-31 L/min). Executive G2 is the flagship at 5075 PSI x 23 L/min on the 350-23 - the highest-PSI petrol commercial in the Jetwave range. Pick by PSI need and flow target.

  • e-Start: worth it?

Jetwave Raptor e-Start GX390 is the electric-start variant of the GX390 commercial - one-button start without pull-cord. Worth it for daily commercial use where pull-start is a friction point - cold mornings, older operators, frequent start/stop work. The pull-start GX390 is identical in pump + pressure spec; the e-Start is purely a starting-method upgrade.

  • How do I maintain petrol pressure washers for long service life?

After each use, flush clean water through the system and wipe down external surfaces. Inspect hoses, fittings and o-rings for wear or cracking before each use. Change pump oil per the OEM schedule (typically every 50-100 hours for petrol units). Store indoors or under cover to prevent UV degradation of hoses and seals. For seasonal storage, run a pump-saver solution through the system to prevent mineral buildup and corrosion. Replace worn nozzles before they affect spray pattern — a worn nozzle increases water consumption and reduces cleaning efficiency.

The right power source for outdoor portable work without mains - construction sites, agricultural, mining, fleet wash, fence and exterior brick.

Engine standard. Honda GX is the contractor industry standard - reliability, parts availability across Australia, long service life. GX160 (5.5 HP) on entry commercial (3300 PSI x 11-12 L/min). GX270 (9 HP) on mid commercial (3500-4000 PSI x 15 L/min). GX390 (13 HP) on heavy commercial (4000 PSI x 21 L/min). GX390 V-twin (the PMG G2 V-twin model) on the heaviest single-engine spec (4000 PSI x 26 L/min). Briggs Vanguard suits some specialty applications.

Pump type. Axial pump on entry commercial - direct-driven, lower-cost, suits intermittent commercial use (1-2 hours continuous, then cool-down). Triplex pump on heavy commercial - belt or gear-driven, higher pressure, 6-8 hour daily continuous duty rating, longer service life. Daily contractor work = triplex.

Hornet G2 vs Senator vs Executive. Hornet G2 is the mid-commercial Jetwave petrol line (4060 PSI x 15 L/min on the 280-15 model, 3000 PSI x 21 L/min on the 200-21).
