FAQs

Common questions answered.

Five of the questions we hear most often on carpark and street linemarking gear. Full knowledge base on our FAQ page.

  • Mould Defence vs Mould Destroyer: which first?

Destroyer first, Defence second. Mould Destroyer kills existing mould infestation. Mould Defence is the preventative barrier applied after Destroyer (or on clean substrate) to stop mould from growing back through the new paint film. The sequence is: kill with Destroyer, prep surface, apply Defence, then paint. Don't paint over live mould; the mould will push through the paint film within months.

  • Where do I use Mould Defence?

High-humidity areas where mould is likely to grow through paint - bathrooms, laundries, kitchen splashbacks, basement walls, ceiling above shower areas. Apply as a primer-step before the topcoat paint. Doesn't replace the paint - it sits underneath and prevents mould from establishing through the paint film. Standard for residential renovation in mould-prone substrates.

  • Why water-based bog?

Water-based formulation means clean-up is water (not solvent), lower odour during use (no solvent fumes in the work zone), and paintable in waterborne paint after dry. The trade increasingly carries water-based product to avoid solvent-bog odour, off-gassing during cure and the solvent clean-up that solvent bog requires. Australian-made by Prep Productions.

  • Is Multi-Use Adhesive for paint application?

No - it's a general bonding adhesive for trim, skirting, panel and repair work where a non-mechanical bond is needed. The painter carries it for repair work that pops up during a paint job - reattaching a skirting that's lifted, bonding a trim piece, panel repair. Multi-substrate compatible. Not a paint additive.

  • Australian-made?

Yes. Prep Productions is an Australian brand with locally-sourced manufacturing. Suits contractors who prefer Australian-made for product support, supply continuity and lower freight footprint. Stock alongside the wider Australian-made Two Fussy Blokes microfibre rollers and iQuip masking range.

Australian trade chemistry brand - mould treatments, multi-use adhesive and tradesman's bog. Prep Productions is the Australian-built surface prep chemistry line distributed through GO Industrial and trade outlets. 4 products covering mould defence, mould destruction, multi-purpose adhesive and water-based bog.

Prep Mould Defence. Preventative mould treatment - applied to walls, ceilings and surfaces before paint as a barrier coating. Stops mould from growing through the paint film in bathrooms, laundries, kitchen splashbacks and any high-humidity area. Suits residential renovation and new-build pre-paint application. Use as a primer-step in mould-prone substrates.

Prep Mould Destroyer. Reactive mould treatment - applied to existing mould infestation to kill the mould and prep the surface for fresh paint. Use as the prep step before Mould Defence and before any new paint coat on mould-affected substrate. Bathroom ceiling, laundry walls and shower surround are typical applications. Don't paint over visible mould - kill with Mould Destroyer, then prep with Mould Defence, then coat.

Prep Multi-Use Adhesive. Australian-spec trade adhesive for general bonding work on the painter's truck - skirting reattachment, trim bonding, panel work, repair where a non-mechanical bond is needed. Multi-substrate compatible. Stock as the standard adhesive in the prep kit alongside fillers and tapes.

Prep Water-Based Tradesman's Multi-Purpose Bog (PBB1). Water-based bog for trade repair - timber, render, plaster and general surface bog. Water-based formulation means clean-up is water, lower odour than solvent bog, paintable in waterborne after dry. Suits the trade carrying water-based product to avoid the solvent-bog odour and clean-up issues. Australian-made.
