FAQs

Common questions answered.

Five of the questions we hear most often on carpark and street linemarking gear. Full knowledge base on our FAQ page.

  • Which DIY prep kit for a standard interior repaint?

DIY Prep Kit Interior Walls & Ceilings - covers fillers for nail holes and cracks, scraper, light sander, dust mask, drop sheet and tape. The standard starter kit for a homeowner repainting one or more rooms without prior experience. Pair with a brush and roller from the Brushes & Rollers collection and a 4 L bucket of trade-grade waterborne wall paint.

  • Doors and trim: do I need a different kit?

Yes - DIY Prep Kit Doors & Trim is for finer-finish substrates where sand-back matters more than for general wall work. Fillers, sanding consumables and detail tools for the smaller-area, finish-critical surfaces. Use this kit for door panels, trim runs, window frames and any surface where roll marks or filler patches would show on the final coat.

  • What's in the Exterior Timber kit?

Timber-specific filler that takes timber finish and stain, weathered-surface scraper for old paint and timber dust, and primer-prep tools for the exposed timber surface. Sized for typical residential timber application - deck rails, exterior trim, fascia, weatherboards. Pair with a trade-grade exterior timber paint or stain for the topcoat.

  • DIY Prep Kit Fences vs Exterior Brick & Render?

Fences kit covers wire brush for surface clean-up, weather-resistant filler for splits and cracks, and exterior primer-prep tools. Brick & Render kit covers heavy-duty wire brush for the textured brick or render surface, masonry-suited prep for crack repair on render, and the heavier abrasion tools needed for a brick face. Match the kit to the substrate.

  • Can I add to a kit?

Yes, order the kit plus the additional individual items in the same order. Common additions include extra abrasive packs (for larger surface area than the kit covers), longer extension pole (for high-ceiling work) and additional masking film. Talk to GO if you want a custom kit composition for a specific project type.

DIY Prep Kits

GO Industrial own-brand pre-built prep kits for DIY and small-trade jobs. Seven kits covering the most common residential paint-prep scenarios: furniture and woodwork, doors and trim, fences, exterior timber, exterior brick and render, interior walls and ceilings, and stripping + filling. Each kit bundles the right tools and consumables for the job, sized for a typical residential application.

Why a prep kit. The single biggest cause of paint failure on residential work is poor surface prep - mould left in place, wrong filler for the substrate, no primer where primer was needed, paint over dust or grease. A pre-built prep kit takes the guesswork out: each kit includes the tools and consumables suited to the substrate and the typical defect profile of that surface. The DIY user runs through the kit, then paints with confidence the substrate is properly prepped.

Interior wall and ceiling kit. DIY Prep Kit Interior Walls & Ceilings covers the standard interior repaint - fillers for nail holes and cracks, scraper, light sander, dust mask, drop sheet and tape. The right starter kit for a homeowner repainting a room without prior experience.

Doors, trim, furniture and woodworks kits. DIY Prep Kit Doors & Trim and DIY Prep Kit Furniture & Woodworks cover the finer-finish substrates where sand-back matters more than wall work. Fillers, sanding consumables and detail tools for the smaller-area, finish-critical surfaces.

Stripping & Filling, Fences, Exterior Timber, Exterior Brick & Render. Specialist kits for substrate-specific prep: paint stripping and filling (paint remover, scraper, filler), fence painting (wire brush, weather-resistant filler, exterior primer-prep), exterior timber (timber-specific filler, weathered-surface scraper, primer-prep tools), and exterior brick/render (heavy-duty wire brush, masonry-suited prep). Each kit is sized for the typical residential surface area for that job.
