Product details

Built for the work it does.

A self bunded fuel trailer purpose-built for the transport of flammable liquids: petrol, kerosene, JET A1 and AVGAS. Capacity under 500L means the loaded trailer can be driven on road without a dangerous goods licence in most jurisdictions.

The chassis is extended to provide safe separation distance for the 12V power and control system required for flammable liquid dispensing. Designed and approved to AS1692, AS1940 and the Australian Dangerous Goods Code.

    FAQs

    Common questions.

Why is the SBSD500 chassis longer than the diesel models?
Flammable liquid dispensing (petrol, kerosene, JET A1, AVGAS) requires a 12V power and control system separated from the dispensing point by a safe distance. The chassis is extended to provide this separation, ensuring compliant flammable liquid handling.
Do I need a dangerous goods licence to tow the SBSD500?
In most cases, no. Capacity under 500L falls outside the dangerous goods licence threshold for road transport. Verify the requirements with your state road authority for your specific fluid type and route, since rules vary by jurisdiction.
Can I store AVGAS or JET A1 in the standard tank?
For AVGAS or JET A1, specify the 304 stainless steel primary tank option, which has 304 SS wetted parts to maintain fuel purity. For petrol or kerosene, the standard primary tank is suitable.
    What dispensing options are recommended?
Common options are a high-flow manual pump, or a flammable-rated 12V dispensing system with battery pack. The extended chassis is designed specifically to support a 12V system with the required separation distance.
What braking system does the SBSD500 use?
Mechanical override brakes, no in-cab controller required. The trailer can be towed by any suitably rated vehicle with the appropriate licence class.
    Is the tank lockable?
Yes. The self bunded tank module is lockable to discourage fuel theft. A calibrated aluminium dipstick monitors contents, with an optional mechanical dial-type level indicator available.
What is the tare weight and gross weight?
Tare is 790 kg. Gross weight with a full load depends on the specific fluid (petrol is around 720 g/L, JET A1 around 800 g/L). Confirm your tow vehicle's GVM and rating before ordering.
What safety equipment do I need to carry?
Minimum 4.5 kg dry chemical fire extinguisher must travel with the trailer. Display correct Hazchem and dangerous goods placards during road transport per ADG Code requirements. Always connect the trailer to an earthing point before dispensing flammable liquids; earthing cable and clamp available as an accessory.
