  • Which Graco paint sprayer should I buy?

    Match the sprayer to the coating and the daily work volume:

    • DIY and apartment painting: Graco Magnum X5
    • Residential contractor (walls, ceilings, exteriors): Graco Ultra 390, 395 or 490, 1/4 inch hose, standard Contractor gun
    • Commercial production: Ultra Max II 595 PC, 695 PC or 795 PC with BlueLink GPS tracking
    • Heavy-duty commercial: Ultra Max II 1095 PC, large pump, 1/4 inch hose standard with 3/8 inch capability

  • What is a RAC X SwitchTip and what is FFLP?

    Graco RAC X SwitchTips are reverse-a-clean tips for the Graco airless paint sprayer family. The number reads X-YZ: first digit is half the fan width in inches at a 12 inch target distance, last two digits are the orifice in thousandths of an inch (so a 517 is a 10 inch fan at 0.017 inch orifice). RAC X LTX is the standard contractor tip line for water-based acrylic walls, ceilings, exteriors. RAC X FFLP (Fine Finish Low Pressure) drops the operating pressure 25 to 40 percent below standard RAC X for cabinet, trim and door work where standard atomisation is too aggressive. Important: FFLP tips use a SMALLER seal than standard blue RAC X tips. Swap the OneSeal when switching tip families or the tip will leak.

  • Solvent-based or water-based coating: which sprayer technology?

    Water-based acrylic (Wash & Wear class, Aqua Enamel, most residential and commercial paint) sprays on electric airless from Magnum through Ultra Max II ProContractor range at 1500 to 3300 PSI with RAC X SwitchTips. Solvent-based industrial coatings on steel are air-driven only: the electric motor on an electric sprayer is a spark risk on a flammable-coating site. Merkur ES 30:1 (low-flow), Merkur 30:1 (high-flow) and Merkur X48 (48:1, 4800 PSI for Jotacote 605 2-pack epoxy) cover the standard solvent-based work. King 45:1 and King 70:1 for intumescent and Interzone 954. King E60 (6000 PSI, hazardous-area approved) for high-build mining. Confirm the coating TDS before specifying unit.

  • Sand or stone render: which sprayer?

    Sand and stone render cannot go through an electric airless tip. Standing rule from Graco technical (Jeff Nind): "you cannot spray any product with a sand or stone with an electric unit through a spray tip." Sand and stone require the Graco ToughTek range. ToughTek F340e covers cementitious materials at around 45 LPM and is the confirmed Xypex Concentrate fit. ToughTek M680a is purpose-built for high-viscosity mortar mixed with sand (2-part epoxy mortars and similar). For acrylic textures without aggregate, the Graco RTX5500PX is the right call. For Level 5 plaster finish and roof restoration membrane (no aggregate), Mark V XT covers it. For sand or stone aggregate, ToughTek only.

  • Do you offer service, training, and on-site commissioning?
