The Proshield is a holder rather than a blade. It clips onto cardboard or another mask that you cut to shape, which means the shield matches the profile you are actually cutting in against instead of being a straight edge that nearly fits.
The clip is high impact polystyrene and the neck is Hyde's patented PivotNeck system, so the shield adjusts to any angle. The handle is 45mm hardwood and takes an extension pole, which is what makes it the option for ceilings, cornice and high external work.
Cardboard is free and replaceable, so when the mask gets loaded with paint you cut a new one. For a permanent blade with a paint runoff lip, look at the 915mm aluminium spray shield.
