Product details

Envo Tape is the everyday roll. Medium tack acrylic adhesive on a flat paper backing, rated to 30 plus days of UV exposure, and it comes off clean with no residue once the coating is dry. It is the tape most of our painting customers buy by the box, and it works on all paint types.

The flat paper backing is thin, which is what buys the sharp line. Only iGecko runs thinner in the iQuip range. Thin backing does mean Envo is not immune to tearing, so if you are pulling tape off render, masonry or anything abrasive, the cloth render tapes are the better tool.

Four widths on 50m rolls. The 18mm is what the pretaped kraft paper dispensers use, 24mm and 36mm cover most cut-in work, and 48mm is for wider edges and holding masking film. Removal is cleanest once the paint has dried and inside the 30 day window.

Features
  • Medium Tack Acrylic Adhesive: Enough grip to hold a clean edge on trim, glass and previously painted walls, without the pull that lifts a fresh coating.

  • 30 Plus Days UV Resistant: Rated to sit through a month of sun and still release cleanly, so a job that runs long does not turn into a scraping exercise.

  • Clean Release, No Residue: Comes away without leaving adhesive behind once the coating is dry and you are inside the 30 day window.

  • No Paint Bleed: The flat paper backing sits down flat, so paint stops at the tape line instead of creeping under it.

  • Suits All Paint Types: Water based, oil based and solvent coatings.

  • Indoor And Outdoor: Rated for both, which is what the 30 day UV figure is there for.

  • Four Widths, 50m Rolls: 18mm, 24mm, 36mm and 48mm. The 18mm is the width the iQuip pretaped kraft paper dispensers are built around.

FAQs

Common questions.

Which width should I buy?
24mm and 36mm cover most cut-in work and are what painters go through fastest. Step up to 48mm for wider edges and for holding masking film against a wall. The 18mm is the width the iQuip pretaped kraft paper dispensers are built around, so buy that one if you are running the kraft dispenser rather than taping by hand.
How long can I leave it on?
Rated to 30 plus days of UV exposure. Take it off once the coating has dried and inside that window and it releases clean with no residue. Leave it past 30 days, particularly in full sun, and you are working against the rating.
Will it pull off a fresh coat of paint?
Envo is medium tack, which is the right level for most surfaces but is more grip than a recently painted or delicate surface wants. For freshly painted walls and wallpaper use the Envo Delicate Purple instead, which is the low tack version of the same tape and carries a 60 plus day UV rating.
Envo or iGecko?
Envo is the everyday roll and the cheaper of the two. iGecko is thinner, carries a 180 plus day rating, is waterproof and resists 100 degrees, and it will not tear on removal. Use iGecko when the finish has to be perfect, on cabinetry and high end work. Use Envo for general painting.
Does it tear?
The flat paper backing is thin, which is what gives you the sharp line, and it is not immune to tearing. On rough render, masonry or brick, use the Japanese Cloth Render tape or the ProMask Korean Render Cloth tape instead. Those are built for abrasive surfaces.
Can I use it outdoors?
Yes. It is rated for indoor and outdoor use, which is what the 30 plus day UV figure covers.
