FAQs

Common questions answered.

Five of the questions we hear most often on carpark and street linemarking gear. Full knowledge base on our FAQ page.

  • RAC X or RAC 5: which one?

RAC X is the Graco airless tip system on paint sprayers - Magnum, Ultra, Ultra PC, Mark V XT, Mark VII, Mark X and Mark Pro. RAC 5 is the line marking tip system on LineLazer unit - different tip thread and seal. Extensions and tip guards follow the same split. Order RAC X for sprayer-side work; RAC 5 for line marking work. They are NOT interchangeable.

  • What does CleanShot do?

Graco CleanShot is the shutoff valve between the gun and the tip extension - stops paint flow at the gun without depressurising the full hose. The painter can stop and start cleanly without paint drip on stop, which matters when spraying ceilings (drip on the floor or on a finished wall is a rework) or working in awkward access. Pair with a tip extension so the operator gets reach plus instant shutoff in one assembly.

  • When do I need a fixed heavy-duty extension?

On production work where the reach is the same all day and the painter doesn't need to telescope in and out. The fixed heavy-duty extension is rigid, doesn't slip under load and is longer than the standard tip extension. Standard fitment is RAC X tip thread at the gun side. Combine with a tip guard and a RAC X tip rated for the unit pressure.

  • How does the Jet Roller / EvenFlow pressure roller work?

Both Jet Roller and EvenFlow are pressure-fed rollers that connect to the airless sprayer hose - paint feeds through the hose directly into the roller frame instead of dipping the sleeve in a tray. The painter rolls and back-rolls in the same pass. Production use case: ceilings, big walls, feature surfaces where spray + back-roll saves the time of spray-then-hand-roll. Pair with the CleanShot shutoff valve so the operator can switch between gun and roller without disconnecting mid-job.

  • Will an extension reduce my spray pattern?

Slightly. Adding a tip extension introduces additional fluid path length between the gun and the tip, which causes minor pressure drop and can soften the spray pattern slightly compared with the gun-only spray. Compensate by adjusting pump pressure up by a small amount when running with a long extension. The reduced operator fatigue and improved reach usually outweigh the minor atomisation impact.

Sprayer Extensions & Pressure Rolling Systems

Graco airless sprayer extensions, CleanShot shutoff valves and pressure-fed rolling systems. 26 products covering RAC X tip extensions (Magnum / Ultra / Mark unit), RAC 5 tip extensions (line marking unit), CleanShot extension assemblies, EvenFlow pressure roller kits and the Jet Roller pressure-fed roller frame.

RAC X tip extensions vs RAC 5. RAC X is the Graco airless tip system on Magnum, Ultra, Ultra PC, Mark V XT, Mark VII, Mark X and Mark Pro unit. RAC 5 is the line marking tip system on LineLazer unit - different tip thread and seal. Extensions, tip guards and accessories follow the same split. Order RAC X extensions for sprayer-side work and RAC 5 extensions for LineLazer-side work.

CleanShot shutoff valve. Graco CleanShot is the shutoff valve that mounts between the gun and the tip extension - lets the operator stop paint flow at the gun without depressurising the line. The right kit for the painter who's spraying ceilings or working in awkward access where pulling the trigger and stopping cleanly without paint drip is important. The CleanShot extension assembly range combines the CleanShot valve with the tip extension as one component.

Fixed heavy-duty extensions. Graco fixed heavy-duty extension range is the rigid extension for production work where reach is the same all day - longer than the standard short tip extension, no telescopic mechanism so no slip under load. Standard fitment is RAC X tip thread at the gun-side. Combine with a tip guard and tip rated for the unit pressure.

Pressure-fed rolling systems. Graco Jet Roller is the pressure-fed roller frame that connects to the airless sprayer hose - paint feeds through the hose into the roller instead of dipping the sleeve in a tray. EvenFlow pressure roller kit covers the same workflow with a different roller frame design. Both systems convert a regular airless setup into a spray-and-back-roll production system for ceilings, large walls and feature surfaces. Pair with CleanShot so the operator can switch between gun and roller without disconnecting the hose mid-job.
