Seat seal 193710 sits directly behind the seat in the Graco drain valve and seals it into the valve body. It is the small part that stops material creeping around the outside of the seat rather than through it, and it is the one most often left in place when a seat gets changed.

Graco lists it immediately alongside seat 193709 in both the GH 833 and the RoadPak parts breakdowns, and the two are meant to be replaced together. Putting a new seat against an old seal usually means going back into the valve a second time, which is a poor trade on a part at this price.

Fitted to GH 833 sprayers (manual 311484, reference 158) and to the RPS 2900 filter assembly on RoadLazer RoadPak and RoadPak HD striping systems (manual 3A5386, reference 240M). Also supplied inside complete drain valve kit 245103.

Packings, o-rings and valve balls are wear parts. They are not covered by warranty in normal use and should be replaced as part of routine pump servicing. Which machines does this seal fit?
It is used in the Graco drain valve on GH 833 and GH 833ES gas hydraulic sprayers (manual 311484, reference 158) and in the RPS 2900 filter assembly on RoadLazer RoadPak and RoadPak HD striping systems (manual 3A5386, reference 240M).
Do I need the seat as well?
Almost always. Graco lists seat 193709 and this seal as adjacent items and they wear together. Fitting a new seat against an old seal is the usual reason a drain valve still leaks after a repair.
What is the difference between the seat and the seal?
The seat is the hard face the ball closes against and controls the seal through the valve. This seal sits behind it and stops material creeping around the outside of the seat. Different jobs, and a valve needs both to hold.
Should I just buy the complete drain valve kit?
Kit 245103 is the whole valve and includes this seal, the seat, the handle, the cap nut, the spring and the gasket. If the handle or spring are also worn, take the kit. If it is only the sealing faces, the seat and seal together are the cheaper fix.
What makes them fail early?
Using the drain valve to relieve system pressure. Graco is explicit that pressure comes off through the guns, not the drain valve, because dumping pressure across the sealing faces damages them.
