Product details

Valve seat 193709 is the sealing face inside the Graco drain valve. It is the part the ball closes against when you turn the valve from prime to spray, and it is what stops the system bleeding pressure back through the filter housing.

Seats wear rather than break. Abrasive, heavily pigmented material cuts a groove in the face over time, and once that happens the valve will not seal in the closed or spray position no matter how hard the handle is turned. Replacing the seat is the usual fix, and Graco recommends replacing the seat seal (193710) at the same time because the two work as a pair.

Fitted to GH 833 sprayers (manual 311484, reference 157) and to the RPS 2900 filter assembly on RoadLazer RoadPak and RoadPak HD striping systems (manual 3A5386, reference 240N). It is also the seat supplied inside complete drain valve kit 245103, so if more than the seat is worn, order the kit instead.

Features
  • Genuine Graco Part: Supplied as Graco part 193709, so the sealing face matches the ball and the valve body it has to close against.

  • Restores Valve Sealing: Fixes a drain valve that will not hold in the closed or spray position, which is the usual result of a grooved seat.

  • Cheapest Fix First: Where only the face is worn, the seat alone gets the valve sealing again without buying the complete drain valve kit.

  • Pairs With The Seal: Graco recommends replacing seat seal 193710 at the same time, as the seat and seal work together to close the valve.

  • Multi-Range Fit: Common to GH 833 gas hydraulic sprayers and the RPS 2900 filter assembly on RoadPak and RoadPak HD striping systems.

FAQs

Common questions.

Which machines does this seat fit?
It is used in the Graco drain valve on GH 833 and GH 833ES gas hydraulic sprayers (manual 311484, reference 157) and in the RPS 2900 filter assembly on RoadLazer RoadPak and RoadPak HD striping systems (manual 3A5386, reference 240N).
Should I buy the seat or the complete drain valve kit?
Drain valve kit 245103 is the whole valve and includes this seat, the seat seal, the handle, the cap nut, the spring and the gasket. If only the sealing face is grooved, the seat on its own is the cheaper fix. If the handle has gone sloppy or the spring is tired, take the kit.
Do I need the seal as well?
Graco recommends it. Seat seal 193710 sits directly against this seat and the two wear together, so replacing one without the other usually means going back in.
How do I know the seat has failed?
The valve will not hold in the closed or spray position, material bleeds back through the filter housing, and pressure will not build or hold at the gun. Turning the handle harder does not help once the face is grooved.
What makes seats wear out early?
Using the drain valve to relieve system pressure. Graco is explicit that pressure must be relieved through the guns, not the drain valve, because dumping pressure across the seat damages the face and stops it sealing.
Can GO Industrial do the work for me?
Yes. Our Deception Bay workshop services Graco line striping systems and we are an Authorised Graco Warranty Repairer and Service Centre. Send the pump in on its own or book the whole rig through. Chat with us or email sales@goind.com.au to get it booked.
