Drain valve kit 245103 replaces the whole prime and drain valve rather than the individual sealing faces. It arrives as a complete valve with the seat (193709) and seal (193710) already installed, plus the handle, cap nut, spring, gasket and thread sealant, so the old valve comes out and this one goes straight in.

This is the kit to take when more than the sealing faces are gone. A handle that has worn round on the stem, a tired spring, or a valve body that will not hold at pressure are all past the point where a seat and seal will fix it. Where only the faces are grooved, the seat and seal on their own are the cheaper repair.

Rated to 4000 psi and fitted to Graco airless and gas hydraulic sprayers including the GH 833 and GH 833ES, where it is reference 162 in parts manual 311484. Installation steps are in manual 308961 below.

What is in drain valve kit 245103?
A complete drain valve with the seat (193709) and seal (193710) already installed, plus the handle (15G563), cap nut (116424), compression spring (114708), gasket (114797) and blue thread sealant. Everything the install needs.
Should I buy the kit or just the seat and seal?
If only the sealing faces are grooved, the seat and seal on their own are the cheaper fix. Take the kit when the handle has worn round on the stem, the spring is tired, or the valve body itself will not hold at pressure.
Which machines does it fit?
Graco airless and gas hydraulic sprayers running the 4000 psi drain valve, including the GH 833 and GH 833ES where it is reference 162 in parts manual 311484. Check your sprayer's parts manual if you are unsure which valve it carries.
How is it fitted?
Relieve pressure first, remove the old valve, grease the seal to hold it and the seat in place, apply the blue thread sealant, thread the valve into the filter housing, then fit the spring, handle and cap nut. Torque the cap nut to 20 in-lb. Full steps are in manual 308961 below.
Why do drain valves fail?
Most often from being used to relieve system pressure. Graco is explicit that pressure comes off through the guns, not the drain valve, because dumping pressure across the sealing faces wrecks them.
