Packing repair kit 287835 rebuilds displacement pump 287834, the lower inside the RPS 2900 pump fitted to RoadLazer RoadPak and RoadPak HD line striping systems. It carries the full throat and piston packing stacks, both stainless valve balls, all four glands and the three o-ring packings, so a pump that has started weeping at the throat or dropping pressure mid-run comes back to its rated 4000 psi.
Repacking is the seasonal service on a striping lower. Graco calls for packings to be replaced each season to protect the piston and the sleeve, and to keep the throat topped up with TSL between services. Packings wear out long before the cylinder or the rod does, so a repack puts the pump back on the road for a fraction of the cost of a replacement lower.
One kit rebuilds one pump. RoadPak HD runs two RPS 2900 pumps, so order accordingly. The same lower is used on the GH 833 and GH 833ES gas hydraulic sprayers, and this kit suits those as well. Strip and rebuild instructions are in manual 311485 below, including packing orientation, which has to be right or the stack will not seal.

- Both Valve Balls Included: Carries the 38.1 mm intake ball and the 22.2 mm piston ball in stainless steel, the two parts that most often pit and cost the pump its prime.
- Glands and O-Rings: Includes all four glands and the three o-ring packings, so nothing has to be chased up once the pump is on the bench.
